ABOUT ME
Afua first got her start in editing at 16, during a summer camp at the University of Chicago. She then attended Columbia College Chicago, where she got her undergraduate degree in Cinema Arts and Science with a focus in post-production. Born to a Ghanaian father and a first-gen Jamaican mother, Afua was raised with a deep connection to diasporic issues, and in her senior year, she edited a project called 71 Seconds (a film loosely based on the events that happened to Trayvon Martin), which was shortlisted for the Student Academy Awards and screened at the Cineyouth film festival. Since then, she has done work for ESPN, ESPN+, and CBS Sports. She is currently a freelance Editor/DIT in her home city of Chicago.
